What changes
How it usually goes
On Handy
A whiteboard, a spreadsheet and a group chat that half the trades have muted.
One board per site. Every job, who's on it and where it's up to.
Agreeing prices on the phone and hoping everyone remembers the same number.
Offers and counters in writing, on the job, before anyone starts.
Driving to site to see if the plumber has actually finished.
Trades tick off steps and add photos. You get the update when it happens.
Chasing a tiler for a job starting in a fortnight.
Post it to the jobs board and licensed trades nearby bid on it.
What you get
Everything below is built and working in the beta today.
- Build board
- Stages left to right, jobs inside them, and links for the jobs that can't start until another is done.
- Job offers
- Offer a job to a business with a price and how it's charged. They accept, counter or pass.
- Jobs board
- Post the jobs you don't have a trade for. Approved businesses bid, you pick.
- Job templates
- Start a job from a step list (measure, rough-in, fit-off) or save your own.
- Site notices
- Power off Tuesday, skip bin moving Thursday. One notice reaches everyone on the site.
- Sign-off and payment
- Inspect finished work, sign it off or send it back, and record when it's paid.
- Ratings both ways
- Rate each trade on time and quality after a paid job, and see how trades rate you before they take your jobs.
