Privacy Policy
Plain-English summary for the beta. A full policy will replace this before a wider launch.
What we collect
Your name, email, password (stored scrambled, never readable) and, if you add it, your mobile and suburb when you create an account, plus whether you signed up as a trade, builder, homeowner or business. For trades: business details, licence and ABN, suburbs served and the photos you upload. For builders: company details. For quote requests, what you type into the form. For the waitlist: your email, first name, postcode and what kind of user you are.
Counting visits
When you use the site we record which pages were opened, the site that linked you here, and any campaign tags on the link (like utm_source), against a random ID kept in a cookie on your device. We don't record your IP address, we don't use advertising trackers, and we don't share this with anyone. It tells us which ads and flyers work and which suburbs people are asking for.
How we use it
To run the service: showing approved trade listings publicly, passing quote requests and job offers to the business they are for, deciding which suburbs to open next, and emailing waitlist members when their area opens. During the beta we may call people who left a mobile number to ask how Handy is working for them. We do not sell personal information.
Where it lives
In Singapore. The website runs with Railway and your information is kept in a database with Supabase, both in their Singapore data centres, chosen because they are the closest to Sydney these services offer and keep Handy quick to use. Photos and files you upload are kept on the same servers. Both providers protect the data under contract and only we can get at it. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time from the contact page.
